Service Detail
Medical Acupuncture
Medical acupuncture is used within physiotherapy treatment and involves inserting fine, sterile needles at targeted areas to support recovery. When appropriate, it can be used alongside hands-on care and exercise to help reduce pain, support local blood flow, ease elevated muscle tone and tightness, and improve tolerance to movement.
How This Service Works
- Treatment is delivered by a physiotherapist following an assessment, and the process is always explained clearly before we begin.
- It may be used to help calm pain sensitivity, encourage local circulation, and reduce muscle tightness or elevated muscle tone that is limiting movement.
- Acupuncture is one part of your care, integrated with exercise, movement strategies, and education to support longer-term progress.
What To Expect On Your First Visit
- We first discuss your symptoms, goals, and whether acupuncture is an appropriate fit within your treatment plan.
- Assessment helps us understand the areas of irritation, tension, or pain that may respond best.
- If used, treatment is paired with a broader rehab plan so pain relief can translate into better movement and progress.
