Pelvic Health

Pelvic Floor Tightness

Pelvic floor muscle tension or difficulty relaxing that can contribute to pelvic pain, urgency, constipation, or discomfort.

What this condition is

Pelvic floor tightness can develop from stress, pain, guarding, posture, breathing patterns, injury, or repeated muscle overactivity. Tight muscles can still feel weak or hard to coordinate.

How treatment can help

  • We assess symptoms, breathing, pelvic floor coordination, and movement patterns that may be keeping tension elevated.
  • Treatment may include relaxation training, mobility, down-training, hands-on care when appropriate, and strategies for daily symptom management.
  • The goal is to help the pelvic floor relax, coordinate, and respond more comfortably.
