Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMD)

Jaw pain, clicking, stiffness, or difficulty chewing, opening the mouth, or managing clenching.

What this condition is

Temporomandibular dysfunction affects the jaw joint and surrounding muscles. Symptoms can be linked to clenching, stress, joint irritation, neck tension, or habits that overload the jaw.

How treatment can help

  • We assess jaw movement, muscle tension, neck mobility, and the activities or habits that aggravate symptoms.
  • Care may include gentle hands-on treatment, mobility and control exercises, and strategies to reduce repeated jaw strain.
  • The goal is to make eating, speaking, yawning, and daily movement more comfortable.
